How do you source and select your prints?
Our team of experts constantly review catalogs from the major print publishers worldwide. These are the same companies that sell prints to top art shops, decorators, galleries, and museums. We examine a sample of every print we sell before it is offered to you. This helps assure us you won't be disappointed. It also enables us to back everything we sell with our 100% satisfaction guarantee.
What are canvas prints?
In response to customer demand, we've added the elegant look of genuine artist canvas as an option for selected prints. Prints are produced on canvas using the Maggio™ printing process to bring you the highest quality digital reproductions available anywhere in the world today.

When canvas is available, your screen will display a button you can click to select canvas or quality paper prints. Canvas prints are available with a choice of frames and mats.

For most canvas prints you will also be able to select from a number of sizes.

What is custom digital printing?
For selected prints, we use the Maggio™ printing process to bring you the highest quality digital reproductions available anywhere in the world today. Each Maggio™ print is crafted on demand exclusively for you.

Whether your print is on fine art paper or canvas, you are sure to appreciate the brilliant high-resolution imaging and maximum color fidelity and stability provided by the specially formulated, long-lasting inks and museum quality protective coating of this proprietary process.

The Maggio™ process allows your reproduction to be printed with thousands more colors, shades, and hues than traditional offset printing methods. Maggio™ prints practically glow with vibrancy and detail – you simply cannot miss the superior quality! You couldn't confuse a Maggio™ print with a mass-produced poster you might see in the mall!

Both Disney and Pixar, two of the most critical and demanding visual image companies in the world, rely on the Maggio™ process for its exceptional quality. The founder of Maggio™ has received the coveted "Benjamin Franklin Award for Outstanding Print Quality" from the National Association of Commercial Printers and we are very proud to be the only online custom-framing service to offer this advanced technology.

What size are the prints?
Van Gogh Art Prints offers a wide variety of sizes to suit almost any wall space, from an intimate nook to a high-ceiling living room. To make it easier for you to select a print that will fit where you want to display it, you will see a size category noted next to each print. Each of our size categories is based on the finished size of the outside frame dimensions. Your exact frame dimensions will be shown once you select a frame.

• Small: approximately 12" x 16"
• Medium: approximately 18" x 24"
• Large: approximately 22" x 26"
• Extra Large: approximately 24" x 34"
• Oversized: approximately 32" x 40" or larger
• Panel: approximately 14" x 36"

The actual print and mat sizes will vary within the frame and you will be able to see the proportions once you select your frame.

Oversized Pieces
Oversized artwork makes a strong design statement and is extremely sought-after, but is often hard to find and especially hard to frame. We make custom-framing these beautiful pieces easy for you and are able to offer them at a great value.

A piece is oversized when the framed outer dimension of its shortest side exceeds 32". We ship oversized items via FedEx 3-Day Air.

Oversized pieces are clearly labeled for your reference.

What if I can't find a particular print I'm looking for?
Can I just buy an unframed print?
Not at this time. All of our current efforts are dedicated to increasing the variety of selections on our custom framing site.
What are the frames made of?
Just like any custom shop, Picasso Art Prints frames come in a variety of materials — solid wood with various finishes, metal, molded plastic, and composites with various printed faux veneers. The reality is that it's the finished look that matters, and unless you are looking at a cross section, it's often hard to tell what material a frame is made of. We offer several types of frames with their component materials noted onscreen.
What is a printed faux veneer frame?
Today, a large percent of custom framing is done with printed faux veneer finishes. (These are not wood veneers.) They are made by printing a "finish" onto a special paper to give the appearance of a particular color, wood grain/stain, fabric or other texture and then wrapping this veneer around the frame. This trend is driven by price: printed faux veneer frames are generally less expensive than actual wood. If you're into top-of-the-line framing, we've got it at Picasso Art Prints. But, if you're less concerned with the underlying elements, you might want to go for a less expensive option that can look quite similar.
What kind of mats do you use?
We stock only hand-beveled cut, top quality mats. Our team of design experts coordinates the best marriage of mats for each print in our catalog. When you click a print's thumbnail on the preview page the recommended mats appear onscreen, in single, double, and triple combinations, next to the frame selections. Some images incorporate printed borders into their designs. These prints may or may not have mats suggested with the frame options.

All materials used in our custom framing process, including our prints and mats, are acid free.

How do you select the recommended frames and mats?
Every print we carry at Picasso Art Prints has been carefully reviewed by our team of design experts. Based on our experience and the specific aesthetic of the prints themselves, our team suggests the frames and mats you see on your screen. Of course your situation and style preferences may be unique, so you can choose from over 150 frames by browsing the frame categories at the bottom of the "Choose Mat & Frame" page.
How can I compare mats and frames for the prints I find?
Shopping Cart: If you want to quickly compare selections, your shopping cart displays all the details you need. Mix and match frames and mats on your selected prints and save each version in your shopping cart to view at once and compare. Don't worry - you don't have to buy all your selections! You can always remove any item from your Shopping Cart if you change your mind later.

Personal Gallery: If you're just browsing and want to keep a record of selections you like, or if you want to start assembling a collection of framed prints for a particular room or need, we encourage you to create a Personal Gallery. To set up a Gallery, simply click on "Add to Gallery" at the top of the page where you select frames & mats, or next to a print in your shopping cart. Once created, your gallery name and password can be shared with others to get their input.

Free Consulting: You can also try our Free Consulting service. Call Toll Free: 888-686-4254 (Monday–Friday 8–6, Saturday 9–5, Central Time). Our consultants will be happy to review your selections with you to help ensure your expectations and needs are fully met. If you have any doubt about how your choice will turn out, or would simply like a second opinion, please give us a call.

Why are a limited number of mats recommended for each print?
Why do mat sizes vary?

In response to many requests, we have expanded the variety of print and frame sizes. We now offer a total of 11 different standard inner frame dimensions, within which both the image and the mat or inner frame border must fit.

Our prints come in an even wider range of sizes, so the finished mat sizes will vary greatly. We make great efforts to display the proportions on your screen as precisely as possible so you can see accurately just what the matted and framed print will look like.

Why are certain prints offered only with a mat and others only without a mat?
Whether or not a mat is offered depends on the size of the image in relation to our frame sizes. In certain cases, if the print comes with a border that is an integral part of the reproduction, we may offer it with or without a mat at your option .

If the image is the same size as the inner frame opening, then a print will be offered with no mat.

What type of glass do you use?
None! Your print deserves the same gallery-quality display covering that is the standard choice at fine art galleries throughout the world and so we protect your print with state-of-the-art Optix Acrylic Monomer Panes. These high-tech protective panes provide a crystal-clear cover for your print, along with the added benefit of UV ray shielding. These Optix Monomer Panes are half the weight and 4-5 times more impact-resistant than standard framer's glass. In the event a severe blow does break the pane, it is far safer than glass for it will not shatter into dangerous slivers and so is much less likely to damage your artwork or cause injury. Please note that to offer our low prices, we cannot special-order non-glare finishes for these Optix Monomer Panes. It's easy to maintain the high optical clarity and UV protective qualities of your print's gallery-quality protective covering:
• Simply dust the frame and protective Optix Monomer Pane with a soft rag or duster to remove surface dust.
• Then apply on a mild soap solution using a spray bottle, or moisten a sponge or soft rag.
• To avoid damage to your Optix Monomer Pane, do not use abrasive soaps or any commercial glass cleaner that contains ammonia or alcohol.
• Wipe the surface gently with a moist sponge or soft rag. Dry with a soft, lint-free rag.

With a minimum of care, your custom-framed art print will provide you with a feast for your eyes for many years to come.

Why do some of our prints have more than one thumbnail
Some images we sell have more than one thumbnail for two reasons:
1. The prints could be different sizes. When selecting one of two similar thumbnails, please pay close attention to the product description shown on your screen, particularly if you keep browsing without placing that print in your shopping cart. Make sure you click on the same thumbnail when you come back to it or double-check the dimensions and description of the print before you finalize your order.
2. There may be differences in color between the two prints. We work with several print distributors and often, there will be substantial differences in the type of lithographic technique they use to reproduce a given image. For example, one distributor might emphasize matching their print to the color scheme found in the original painting whereas another distributor will opt for enhancing their version.

Distributors also use different printing systems and that can create visible differences in the final product by virtue of the settings, inks, and other variables factored into the printing process. For this reason we offer you each version and let you decide which one you like the best.

We strive to make sure that our on-screen samples match the actual print you receive as much as possible. And we are so confident in our technology that we offer you an unconditional 30-day, 100% money-back guarantee.

  PRICING

How do I know I'm saving 40% to 50% on custom framing?
Frames often look similar but are in fact of very different quality. This makes comparing prices of framed prints more difficult than comparing prices of standard products like CD's or books. We went to dozens of frame shops around the country, compared costs for similar quality and came up with an average nationwide price (including mat, frame, glass and mounting fees). We then discounted these 40% to 50% off — PLUS we threw in FREE shipping!
How can you afford to sell your merchandise at these prices?
Our extensive supplier warehouses allow us to buy in volume and keep a low overhead, which lets us pass our savings on to you. Compared to retail prices, you save between 40% and 50% on custom framing.
